Harem Pants and Red Lips

Here are a few of my looks lately!

I have never done a red lip before and it is hard to find the right shade, this isn't my shade I have to say. I have really warm undertones so my lipstick always tends to go orange over time. I need to find a lipstick that has a more pink or blue base.

For Valentines Day I went with simple make up and a pink lip. My lips are naturally really Pink so I go for really pale pinks.

Love these pants and shoes! This was the first outing for these pants and these shoes! Do you love Harem pants as much as I do??

Soul Sunday

I love this...It's hard to come out has the compassionate person, and not the hard jaded person. I hope to be able to use all my experiences in life to become a better compassionate person.

I swear I have cried more in this 2013 than I did in all of 2012. It has been emotionally hard already, I feel like I am standing still in everything in life, because essentially I am. I am just waiting for life to begin and I hate waiting, as soon as I am done with school I am out of here and onto a life that I want to live. I feel complancent and if I am being honest, I am a little lonely I miss a lot. I hate that everything reminds me of better times and I can't seem to get over it. I am a person who loves change and I have been in the same attitude for almost a year now and that is driving me crazy. I just have to stick it out a little longer, I will be done with school in the fall and then I can do whatever I please, which is scary, which I love.

Anyway not such a happy post today, just very pensive right now. But here are some things I love.

Weight Loss

THE STORY

I thought I would take a second to address something that I have struggled with my whole life and that is weight. I was never really a sad kid, I have always been pretty confident but I was also chubby. I would say that in Jr high and High school I was always at least 20-30lbs over weight. I am tall so I carry the weight better than others, I never Hated my body but I did always wish it would just be easy. I have one older brother and two little sisters who have my Dad's metabolism and have always been stick thin. Were I got my Mom's body and have struggled with weight and dieting and trying to exercise as long as i can remember. My story is a lot like other girls where I tried a lot of diets and cutting out food groups to try and cut weight but nothing ever stuck. I would go to the gym and try some workouts but I was never good at pushing my self and my weight pretty much stayed the same until I turned 20.

When I started college I gained 20lbs, so I was now almost 40lbs over my "Healthy suggested weight" I had cancelled my gym membership and moved in with some roommate's who didn't really care what they ate. It was the highest I had ever seen a number on that scale.

THE SOLUTION

This past summer in August my little sister wanted to go check out a boxing gym and wanted me to come with her to try it out. I fell in love with the gym and the training. I signed up and haven't looked back. I just had my 6 months anniversary of when I joined and if everything goes according to plan this week I will have lost 30lbs from where I started.

The trick for me is realizing how much money I would spend on clothes and food but wouldn't spend on my health. I knew I was bad at motivating myself and recognized that a coach/trainer would be the best for me. At least for now, it also helped to be working towards a goal, a want to eventually fight as an amateur boxer, so the threat of getting my butt kicked is a good motivator.

FOOD

Tuna, Banan Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, balsamic Vinegar and mustard on romain lettuce leaf.

My metabolism sucks, always has, so it really doesn't matter how hard I work out, if I am eating crap I wont lose a pound. I use My Fitness pal to count calories and I love it. I don't like most meats so I eat a lot of vegetables, fruit and fish. Now with calories you can eat what you want as long as you stay in the allotted amount of calories, I have days where I will have eaten my entire days worth of calories by 3pm and then cannot eat for the rest of the day. I used to struggle with finding what worked best but lucky for my I enjoy most fruits and vegetables, and now understand how to be able to eat more but for less.

LOVE BERRIES!! Natures Candy.

Salmon Grilled with Tomatoes, basil, goat cheese, and aged balsamic

Potato Kale Soup, super easy to make. It makes a huge batch and is delicious. I also add broccoli and cauliflower.

Green Drink in the mornings. Kale, Carrots, Spinach, Cucumber, and Berries.

Eating fresh and clean is not only good for your weight loss its good for your whole body. Giving your body good food promotes healthy hair skin and nails. Keeps you regular and gives energy.

I also figured out that its easy to alter recipes so you can still eat the things you love but with sometimes half the calories and not ruin your day. I am a very busy person so I learned that I need to take the time out to prep my food for the next day or for the next week or I will not be prepared and be forced to go fast food. Now with eating out you can find things that wont bust the diet but its just easier to prep it at home and not have the guilt of eating out, especially when you have spend to much time and money on groceries.

My favorite snacks at work are carrots and hummus, chips and salsa or yogurt and nuts. I can do some meal post later if wanted.

WHAT I'M WEARING.....

The weather is still sucky up in this Utah county of ours, its not snowing so that is good but now it plays the dancing game between kinda warm and kinda freezing so tank tops and jackets have been my go to lately. I don't think I took any pictures of my outfits this week but here are similar items.

I LOVE my new guns and roses tank top. I got it at Forever 21 for 14.99 I think. I paired it with Jeans heels and a chunky cardigan.

I love this blend of hard and soft. I did it but with a black full skirt and a white tank with little hearts on it.

I love this outfit. I did it with my black maxi from GenEx 18, a similar black and white striped T from Forever 21, and my Maroon hat from Target.
I LOVE Funny stupid little shirts like this! I dig through thrift shops in the mens shirts to find items like these which I then cut and sew into a smaller shirt for me! I will do a post on just that later.

Here a cut I do for work out shirts I find as well.

WHAT I'M LISTENING TO...

This week in music has been pretty Rap-tastic. Here are a few I am obsessed with right now.

I don't really talk about my dating life, mostly because its screwed up and doesn't make sense. But this song sounds like my dating life. Maybe I will sing it for the blog on day.

Natural Oils

Castor Oil!

Let's talk about my favorite thing on the planet natural oils! My favorite is organic Castor Oil. It is my favorite for hair. Castor oil is great for you scalp which promotes grown and healthy roots. It helps with shedding by making the cycle of hair last longer. It has high moisture retaining capacity since it is not broken down easily which is what helps prevent the breakage of hair. I have got many of my friends hooked on it. I wash my hair about 2 or 3 times a week and let the oil sit for at least an hour before I wash. I also wash my hair in cold water, right before I get out if rinse my hair with as cold of water as I can stand.

It is also better for you hair to not use towels on it. The least abrasive is using a cotton T shirt to wrap your hair in instead of a towel.
Here are some results from using oil just this year.

And here are just some of my favorite hair styles.

Happy Hair day!
